When I visited St. Kitts a couple years ago, the island was in the midst of successfully transferring from a sugar-based economy to one based on tourism. Looking at the island through the eyes of a cruise passenger, I could see that St. Kitts was perfectly poised to welcome the cruise traveler on a tight schedule.

I can envision a time when Haiti’s tourism will have its own generator, the beauty of the painting and sculpture produced by Haiti’s artists.

Catch and release makes a lot of sense in some fishing circles. But I’ve always been of a different frame of mind: I like the idea of catching dinner. On a recent evening in Rosarito Beach, I enjoyed fresh ocean breezes and a beautiful sunset while catching enough fish to feed our family of eight.
