Mountain Travel Sobek’s Alaska: Rafting and Hiking the Alsek River itinerary offers outdoor enthusiasts a chance to experience the pristine Alaskan wilderness while testing their rafting skills on Class II to Class IV rapids. The 13-day tour winds through one of the largest protected nature reserves in the world. Visitors camp by the river each night, observe wildlife and hike. Highlights of the trip include a trip to Glacier Bay National Park on Alsek Lake and a helicopter ride with a view of Turn Back Canyon, Alsek’s most dangerous whitewater rapid rated Class VI.
