Playa Hotels & Resorts has announced the conversion and re-branding of Dreams Puerto Vallarta and Dreams Cancun to Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta and Hyatt Ziva Cancun. Playa has owned the resorts since 2007, both of which will close at the end of April 2014 to undergo multimillion-dollar upgrades and expansions before reopening in late 2014.

Earlier this year, Playa entered into an agreement with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation to be the first franchise and initial management company for Hyatt's new all-inclusive brands: Hyatt Zilara for adults and Hyatt Ziva for groups, families and friends.
