The Details

American Queen Steamboat Company, which is launching a second ship in the Pacific Northwest next year, has announced some very unusual member benefits for repeating guests.

Among these benefits is Home Port Members Only vessel access. When the American Queen or American Empress is in port near members’ homes, they are welcome onboard for breakfast or lunch, with up to two additional guests. Furthermore, when they are cruising, loyalty members can invite friends or family onboard for a tour of the boat and a meal with guests while in a port (reservations may be made in advance).

In addition, members always receive $100 per guest in cruise fare credit, and $200 per guest credit toward future cruise fare when booked and deposited while onboard, with a 10 percent agency commission paid on new booking when the guest confirms an agency of preference.

After guests cruise nine times, the 10th cruise is free (up to $3,899 per person). And complimentary standard shore excursions are always included, along with a pre-cruise deluxe hotel night. Members also receive in-room gifts, a private cocktail party, priority check-in and early boarding, as well as special promotional offers. In addition, they get Referral Rewards credits when they refer guests who book on American Queen.
