When Carnival Cruise Line’s next new ship — Carnival Celebration — emerges on Nov. 21, 2022, it will feature The Golden Jubilee, a vintage-themed bar that pays homage to the fleet’s 50th anniversary. The bar and entertainment venue will be located where The Brass Magnolia can be found on its Mardi Gras sister ship.
“The Golden Jubilee is the ultimate nod to our 50th birthday — a nostalgic but timeless lounge where our guests can re-live and connect with Carnival’s yesteryears while enjoying a glamorous and elegant space that embraces our current Carnival style,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Notable Design Features of The Golden Jubilee
The vaulted double-decker space will highlight artwork, memorabilia and authentic fixtures from previous Carnival ships, many procured by Peter Knego, a prolific cruise industry historian and a frequent TravelAge West contributor.
Among the pieces included will be a partition wall with windowpanes from TSS Mardi Gras’ casino, musical instrument etchings and brass and glass nightclub doors from TSS Carnivale and a bronze statue of Carnival founder Ted Arison and Finnish shipbuilder Martin Saarikangas, which was originally gifted to the line by Kvaerner Masa-Yards upon delivery of Carnival Sensation.
Flanking the bar will be copies of blueprints and design sketches by ship architect Joe Farcus from over the years. Also featured will be recreations of chairs from TSS Carnivale’s Riverboat Lounge and cocktail tables from Carnival Fascination’s Hollywood Boulevard.
Floor tiles surrounding the bar will take cues from the Grand Ballroom’s maple leaf pattern on TSS Mardi Gras, themselves carried over from the ship’s previous incarnation as Empress of Canada for the historic Canadian Pacific Line. Last but not least, TSS Carnivale’s main lobby doors (featuring etched glass) will inspire mirror inserts that will be set within the bar and bottle display.
Timeless porthole windows will illuminate the venue’s live music stage and dance floor, and the bar’s menu, adorned with an earlier 1970s version of Carnival’s logo, will include nostalgic but updated libations such as a Harvey Wallbanger and Tom Collins.
The Golden Jubilee will take up residence in a to-be-announced zone of the ship, which will include an interior promenade beyond the bar that will further showcase Carnival’s storied timeline.
Artifacts to be included along the pedestrian corridor will encompass a gallery displaying the Fun Ship fleet evolution with five portholes, one per decade in operation, and a sixth representing now and the future; the original engine telegraph from TSS Carnivale; floor coins for every former and current ship in the fleet; a TSS Carnivale model recovered from MS Inspiration and a 12-foot-long ship model of Carnival Celebration.
Celebration will set sail from Miami in November 2022 on five-, six-, seven- and eight-day voyages to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
